Maintenance and Reliability Engineer with Schwan’s Global Supply Chain, Inc. in Marshall, MN
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for implementing Total Maintenance Effectiveness across all the Schwan Food manufacturing facilities and leading facility teams in researching and developing a Total Maintenance Effectiveness program, Infrastructure Needs and Best Practices plan for our maintenance operations and then lead the process by working with plant teams and corporate to facilitate the implementation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements and monitors a verifiable KPI’s system that will enable Maintenance Effectiveness tracking.
Standardizes maintenance systems, functionality, and best practices across the company including PM, WO, store room functions, CMMS reporting and other systems.
Assess skills of maintenance personnel across all Schwan Food manufacturing facilities.
Improves each facilities maintenance operations by monitoring efficiencies and then coaching the facility teams on continuous improvement methodology.
Through process reviews identify process and system choke points.
Works with each facility to develop five year plans for sustaining infrastructure assets and future growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Years of Related Experience: 7-9 years related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Intermediate PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of PM processes i.e. Reactive Maintenance / Preventative Maintenance (calendar and time based) / Predictive Maintenance. Previous experience with implementation of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) programs such as MP2, (preferably SAP based). Experience in setting up and managing KPI’s in food manufacturing maintenance. Knowledge of World Class maintenance standards. Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis and the process for eliminating these failures. Knowledge, understanding and experience in SPC, Lean Management, Six Sigma, Shop Floor Control process, and other continuous improvement methods. Understanding of GMP’s and Regulatory requirements as related to manufacturing (i.e. OSHA, USDA, EPA, PSM). Project Development and Management experience. Good oral and written communication skills.
