Reliability Electrial Engineer - Mobile, Alabama
Position Scope:
This position is with Honeywell, in Mobile, AL. (relo paid)
This position will work to improve electrical and power distribution reliability by applying Reliability Engineering principles, statistical data analysis and supporting work process.
Broad Control – Supports and influences plant personnel
Key Success Factors:
• Provide direct electrical reliability support needs.
• Interface with Electric Utility Suppliers concerning site supply reliability and cost, partnering with Procurement.
Responsibilities:
• Train and assist people how to prepare Reliability Plans for critical Electrical/Power systems: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operator Monitoring, critical Repair activities, and Spare Parts bills of materials quality assurance.
• Analyze failures and recommend corrective action.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) teams and use the Apollo RCFA method where appropriate.
• Lead Reliability-focused Failure Modes and Effects Analyses teams where appropriate.
• Partner with SM Engineering Dept and Sites to establish Design Standards for Electrical Systems.
• Functional Owner of the Electrical elements of the Specialty Materials’ Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance standards for OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity element of Process Safety Management.
• Maintain currency with developments in the Electrical Power fields to recommend improvements to current practices.
• Actively represent Specialty Materials in professional organizations such as the IEEE and Process Industries Practices (PIP).
• Interpret NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements in the workplace, roll out findings to the various sites.
• Develop an Electrical PPE program that is consistent across the Honeywell Specialty Material sites.
• Conduct Periodic Site Electrical Reliability Assessment (3 to 5 years).
Basic Qualifications:
• BS Electrical Engineering
• 2-5 years related experience.
• Good proficiency in use of Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired.
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience in hands-on Reliability Engineering in heavy industrial settings (Chemicals, Petroleum, Steel, Pulp & Paper, etc).
• Experience as a trainer or instructor is beneficial.
• Familiar with Mechanical Integrity, PSSR, MOC, etc.
• Extensive knowledge in codes and standards including: NEC, NESC, NFPA 70B, 70E, 30, 497, PIP.
• Extensive knowledge in coordination studies and time/current curves.
• Capable of analyzing data from equipment history records (SAP, equipment files, vendor research) as basis for reliability plans.
• Extensive experience in electrical reliability and troubleshooting (Transformers, Switchgear, Transmission Feeders, Sub-stations, MCC’s, Motors, Fault Coordination, Variable Speed Drives, Diesel Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies)•
• Extensive knowledge in the use and application of predictive technologies (infrared, transformer oil, current analysis, power quality).
• Portrays excellent team leadership skills.
• Effective in working with and learning from personnel in various roles and from diverse backgrounds; including engineers, designers, drafters, union and non-union craftspeople, suppliers, and construction contractors.
Experience with utilizing SAP-PM for reliability data collection and analysis is a plus.
