The individual in this Training Coordinator position will develop, conduct and coordinate employee training and development programs in the processing maintenance areas of Kennecott’s Copperton Concentrator. Included in these activities will be the development of materials, courses and forums when necessary, as well as preparation and presentation of technical training, including MSHA annual refresher training. Job responsibilities for this position, in addition to much else, include:
• Gains input from maintenance supervisors to determine training needs.
• Identifies technical competencies for all levels of work.
• Assists with short and long-range planning for training and development.
• Researches providers for technical training and prepares or recommends necessary vendor materials or training.
• Gauges effectiveness of training provided by vendors and implements suggestions for improvement based on course assessments.
• Maintains files and records of training course attendance and records utilizing SAP systems.
• Trains for and receives necessary qualifications to train employees on mobile equipment which may include, but is not limited to:
o Mobile Cranes / Overhead Cranes
o JLGs / Manlifts / Scissor Lifts
o Forklifts
o Other applicable mobile equipment used in area
Job Requirements:
• 5 or more years experience in maintenance areas / maintenance practices preferred.
• Broad knowledge of related maintenance practices.
• Able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Able to follow safety practices and recognize hazards.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience presenting information or technical training a plus.
• Overhead / mobile crane / forklift / man-lift certifications / qualifications (train the trainer) a plus.
• SAP system familiarity a plus
• Welding / Oxyacetylene certifications or competency a plus
