THE POSITION:
The Operations Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on all operations and facilities equipment within the distribution center. Operations equipment includes, but is not limited to, high speed automation equipment in a production environment. The position requires a proactive, innovative and analytical individual who can perform in a fast paced work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Setting up, operating and maintaining equipment to ensure production goals are met.

• Communicate equipment issues to management.
• Must be able to communicate and work effectively with interdepartmental groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years’ experience in electromechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs in a production environment.
• Ability to utilize equipment schematics and assembly plans to effectively troubleshoot electromechanical problems.
• PLC programming skills a plus.
• Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting, compressed air systems.
• Supervision / leadership skills in a production environment desired.
• General knowledge and skills of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet.
• Successful track record achieving performance goals through effective leadership combined with personal performance.
• Experience in critical spare parts inventory control.
• Understanding of how, and ability to, optimize automation production machinery through troubleshooting machinery and systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
• Up to 80% travel may be required.
• Occasional overtime hours may be needed to support operational needs.
• The ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to handle and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
EDUCATION:

• Reports directly to the President
• Responsible for leading and contributing to corporate sales growth and customer service
• Responsible for managing field sales initiatives and field sales personnel
• Responsible for personally managing and growing an assigned set of accounts
• Manage end user sales activity through direct field sales visits interfacing with the established distribution network including OEMs, catalogs, and industrial distributors
• Contribute to both new product and service development
• Collaborate with engineering services team
• Maintain intimate awareness of targeted customers (product/service needs, applications, personnel, locations, sales volumes, etc)
• Discovery and understanding of significant industry factors including competitive products, regulations, trends, customer needs, and pricing.
• Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, territory/industry management, and growth plans.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge (including applications understanding) and maintain appropriate industry certifications (i.e. MLT1, MLT2, CLS, etc).

The ideal candidate will have prior experience selling into industrial plant environments and leading a team of field sales personnel. Growth orientation and leadership by example is a must.
