Operator Asset Care and SAP Plant Maintenance
Please join us for a Webinar on September 11
by Steve Reilly, DMSI
Operator Asset Care involves using operations personnel to inspect production equipment, detect any existing or potential issues, and communicate them so that they can be corrected - before any loss of production or major equipment repair is required. Operator Asset Care is a part of an overall Asset Basic Care program, which also includes mechanical and lubrication inspection and correction procedures.
Return on investment for these programs can be quick and significant. Operator Asset Care programs can be carried out using clipboards and spreadsheets, but rugged handheld computers have made the automation of these procedures faster, less expensive and more accurate than ever before.
The use of automation tools such as industrial handheld computers can help Operator Asset Care programs succeed in an SAP R/3 or ECC environment - the inspection and data recording procedures can mesh seamlessly with your existing SAP PM module:
1. Build inspection rounds automatically from your current equipment or functional location structure.
2. Collect all information on the handheld needed to automatically generate maintenance notifications, without having operators need to enter data into the PM module at all.
3. Interfaces to SAP that meet IT specifications - either using BAPIs or XI.
4. Automatic feed back to the operators on their handhelds when a notification has been generated based on the inspection.
This presentation is summarized by SURE (Simplicity, Understanding, Reliability, Effectiveness), the four main keys to a successful Operator Asset Care / Asset Basic Care program.
The presented material will last 45-50 minutes minutes with extra time set aside for questions and answers. Please allow extra time to attend if you are interested in participating in the question and answer sessions.
