Preventive Maintenance M Ratio Analysis

A 12 minute iPresentation Tutorial by Don Olszewski, The Timken Company

Learn to perform a ratio analysis using any CMMS – comparing or identifying preventive work orders on an asset or individual equipment by evaluating whether or not corrective work orders were issued in a given time frame (pending the frequency of PM). If a corrective work order or repair issue was not identified in the last three to six times during a PM for that equipment then your PM periodicity needs to be either increased or the task eliminated thereby saving dollars and valuable maintenance man-hours.

Crisis Compels Change

Crisis Compels Change
by Ron Moore P.E., Author - Making Common Sense Common Practice, Models for Manufacturing Excellence

In a major market shift, disruption, or downturn, cost cutting may be essential. But even before the current situation and major downturn, most manufacturers had already cut costs substantially, even “to the bone” some would suggest. Now, many of those same manufacturers have announced even more cost cutting and major layoffs. They may be engaged in what Gary Hamel referred to as corporate liposuction – they had already sucked the fat out, and now they’re unknowingly going for the vital organs. How do we manage under these very difficult circumstances, when demand has suddenly plummeted? How do we position our businesses to survive in the short term, and perhaps even more importantly prosper on the backside of this recession?

NEW Three and four channel vibration data collection – the benefits and considerations

Please join us for a 30 minute Webinar on Friday March 20 at 10 am (EDT = New York)

This presentation provides an explanation of the financial and technical considerations of three or four channel vibration data collection and analysis.

Single and dual channel data collectors have been the norm for many years, but with the continuous development in the electronics industry, four channel acquisitions on a genuinely portable instrument has become possible. However there is a paradox between the expectations of engineers who use the technology in the field, with regard to safety and longevity, versus the reality of modern electronic design and safety regulations.

There are practical considerations that need to be made if implementing multi-channel collection and these are explained.

Space is limited.
