RMS Engineer Needed for 787 Program Yakima Washington
Job Title: Reliability Engineer SUMMARY Analyzes aircraft hydro mechanical component designs, performs reliability predictions and failure analyses, as shown below: ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Perform system and component level Reliability Predictions and Analysis, Maintainability Analysis, Safety Analysis, RBD, FMEA, FTA, on aircraft hydro mechanical assemblies.
2. Design and conduct Reliability Tests, including Reliability Growth, Reliability Demonstration, Accelerated Life Tests, HALT and HASS.
3. Work independently, as well as a team member of an Integrated Product Team. Interface with other design and project engineers and program managers, having the ability to influence the design for reliability, maintainability and safety.
4. Assess existing internal Reliability analyses methods and improve upon, through the research and application of other mathematical and scientific models, considering probabilistic design, physics of failure, reliability physics, stress and fatigue analysis, probabilistic design, etc.
5. Develop methods or systems for in-service data collection and perform Reliability Predictions to assess life expectancy in the field.
6. Strong writing, presentation, planning, problem solving, and organizational, project management and decision-making skills.
7. Effective communication, interpersonal and team building skills and able to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
8. Strong math and statistics and computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, ReliaSoft’s Weibull++, XFMEA, Isograph FaultTree+, MathCad, etc.)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisor responsibilities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 1. BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
2. MS in Reliability Engineering is a strong plus
3. ASQ CRE is a strong plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS 1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as FAA/JAA documents, safety standards, guidelines and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
3. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 1. Strong skills in mathematics, statistics and probabilities.
2. Fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
