IRISS - GM Tech Winner of Prestigious Passport to Export Award
In a ceremony outside London, UK, Lord Digby Jones, Minister for Trade and Investment, presented the prestigious Essex Passport to Export Award to GM Tech, the manufacturing and service subsidiary of IRISS, inc. (Sarasota, Florida, USA).
The Passport to Export (P2E) Award is given by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to companies which excel in product development for export overseas. The P2E program is designed to share best practices and assist UK companies in their quest to become world-class manufacturers and exporters.

Robinson is a Level III thermographer who has extensive experience conducting thermographic electrical surveys with his team of certified thermographers at GM Tech. His s tory is a classic case of a talented technician who recognized a need for improved technology in his field and acted on it. Robinson’s industrial-grade infrared windows are solutions that allow safe and efficient access to electrical distribution equipment for infrared surveys. His risk-reducing products have since been adopted for use by expert thermographers and electricians around the world, accounting for over a 50% increase in business.
In all, 23 UK companies were honored for their achievements with GM Tech, a subsidiary of IRISS, inc., taking home the prestigious Essex P2E Award. “I am greatly impressed by the variety of companies being recognized for their efforts to compete in the global marketplace,” said Lord Digby Jones. “This diversity of businesses is good for the strength of the region and for the UK.”
