CTC Announces new Class I, Division 2 Vibration Sensors and Transducers
January, 2007 – Victor, New York - CTC, a leading supplier of industrial vibration analysis hardware, announced that it has obtained Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 2, Groups F & G; Class III certification on its AC920 Series of accelerometers and LP822 and LP922
Series of 4 –20 mA, transducers; permitting the use these accelerometers in a hazardous environment without a barrier.
The CSA Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 2, Groups F & G; Class III certification has made the AC920 and LP Series “CSA approved” in North America for use in hazardous areas containing volatile flammable liquids, gases or vapors. The Class I, Division 2
certification will allow these sensors to be installed in hazardous environments common to the petrochemical, chemical, gas and mining industries.
The certification demonstrates CTC’s commitment to designing industrial products, which reflect the inputs and needs of our customers. “We are very pleased to add Class I, Div 2 accelerometers to our product line”, says Todd Cook, President of CTC. “This new series of accelerometers fills a niche that our customers have requested”.
Customers will find value in a Loop Power Sensor, which can input vibration information directly to their Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). This enables plant personnel the ability to monitor and trend overall vibration information, and schedule maintenance tasks on machinery.
