July 30, 2006   ISA Appoints Global Operations Manager

Research Triangle Park, NC (26 July 2006) - ISA recently announced the appointment of Timothy Feldman as Global Operations Manager.

Feldman comes to ISA from the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, where he was Vice President of Industry Programs. In this position, he was responsible for relations with member companies, program management, sales and customer service functions. In addition, he enhanced NEMA’s operations in Mexico, Brazil and established NEMA’s presence in China.

July 30, 2006   BASF reduces costs with Emerson's Machinery Health technology

Emerson Process Management’s Machinery Health Management technologies have enabled BASF Antwerp to maximize plant output and reduce costs through the introduction of a maintenance strategy based on predictive intelligence.

BASF Antwerp implemented a predictive maintenance strategy ten years ago based on the collection and analysis of vibration data using Emerson’s CSI Machinery Health Analyzers.  Moving from a time-based regime to a predictive approach has resulted in significant cost savings and fewer equipment breakdowns. In the future, BASF will continue to practice predictive maintenance while undertaking Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to enable a move towards proactive maintenance.

July 25, 2006   UNICCO achieves 1,000,000-hour safety milestone at Bridgestone Firestone

WILSON, N.C. – July 25, 2006 – Management at the Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC facility located here, has recognized UNICCO® Service Company for an unprecedented 1,000,000 hours without a lost time incident. The UNICCO staff of 174 employees provides production and facilities equipment preventative and emergency maintenance services for the facility, which includes 57 acres of factory, warehouse and office buildings on the 485 acre site.

The 1,000,000-hour safety milestone was achieved by UNICCO’s maintenance and support services staffs on July 1, 2006; the last lost time incident occurred on August 5, 2004. “This is an unprecedented achievement,” commented Jim Pridgen, Bridgestone Wilson, plant manager. “Clearly, UNICCO has become a model for safety at the factory. Their approach to safety directly contributes to our productivity and to employee welfare.”
