Springfield, MA, Purchases CartêGraph Software Suite
Dubuque, Iowa—March 6, 2006—CartêGraph Systems, Inc., is proud to announce that the City of Springfield, MA, chose CartêGraph software for a cost-effective, integrated asset management solution. Springfield joins the hundreds of other entities utilizing CartêGraph software to achieve better efficiencies in their organizations.
Springfield, the third largest city in Massachusetts with a population of 152,157, selected the management solutions provided by the CartêGraph Software Suite. After reviewing other software systems, the city chose CartêGraph based on software features, their new ArcGIS-embedded solution, its ease of use, and because it was the most cost-effective solution. The city purchased 20 concurrent licenses and looks to expand as implementation continues.
“We are really excited about getting started,” commented Bob Houldson, Springfield’s Communications Technician. “Right now we have a lot of Access databases and with CartêGraph we will be able to tie many of those together in one system. Our goal is to be able to connect the information easier as well as having a cost associated with everything.”
Customer Service is one of the first steps Springfield will concentrate on during phase one of the implementation. Multiple phone numbers are currently being used and with the new system they want to funnel everything through one. The four service representatives will then be able to have all of the needed information right on their screen, minimizing the need to transfer the caller repeatedly. Another area of focus is automating their inventory, possibly by using bar codes. Other areas of interest include working with the city engineers to start rating the pavements and start inputting the city’s assets.
To learn more about CartêGraph prior to purchase, city officials visited CartêGraph client, the Town of Brookline, MA. In their visit they were excited to see how the town was able to easily run a report to send to FEMA after a disaster. Before, Springfield had to calculate employee’s time, contractor’s time, and material used to get the cost associated with a storm; now with CartêGraph the information will be at their fingertips.
With CartêGraph software, Springfield is finding a better way to serve its constituents, while maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of its organization. For more information on CartêGraph, visit www.cartegraph.com.
