Nuclear Facilities Upgrade Work and Supply Chain Management Software
Indus International Inc., a leading Service Delivery Management solution provider, today announced that Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) has gone into full production on a standardized work management and supply chain system based upon the latest enterprise asset management (EAM) software from Indus. The company has implemented a single Indus supply chain solution across their regulated utility business, as well as standardized and upgraded the work management systems in their Southern Nuclear stations. Entergy also replaced a previous Indus solution at their Vermont Yankee Nuclear Station.
Entergy, a member of Indus’ Nuclear Leadership Council, becomes the first major user to transition entirely to Indus Asset Suite. This industry-leading EAM solution leverages the incredible depth of functionality that has been a hallmark of Indus PassPort while adding a services-oriented architecture to significantly improve the user experience and simplify integration to external systems. Entergy can now fully exploit the power of tailored workflows and wizards which not only allow end users to be more efficient but also significantly reduce both the training complexity and time needed for the users to become fluent in their job roles.
Entergy, the second-largest nuclear generator in the U.S., is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity. This initiative will provide a stable, predictable and common platform to allow Entergy to acquire existing nuclear stations, as with the recent announcement of the Palisades plant, as well as construct new nuclear generating capacity cost effectively, safely and with minimal risk.
This decision by Entergy, one of the most prominent nuclear generators in the country, further validates both Indus’ vision and ability to execute on that vision. “We are very pleased, not only with the results, but also with the fact that Entergy trusted Indus to deliver a new product on a very fast track schedule, with little margin for slippage,” said Indus President and CEO Greg Dukat. “Indus is the obvious choice for companies like Entergy who need scalable and functionally rich applications, but also need a strategic partner who is attuned to the needs of achieving client-specific goals.”
