Mtelligence bridge connects all major EAM systems to plant floor
Mtelligence Launches the Industry’s First MIMOSA(TM)-based Plant to Maintenance Integration Platform Providing Support for All Major EAM Systems
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2006--
Mtelligence bridge connects all major EAM systems to plant floor enabling real-time Condition Based Maintenance via MIMOSA XML Web Services open standard
Mtelligence Corporation, a leading provider of Maintenance Intelligence(TM) solutions for global manufacturers, today launched the industry’s first MIMOSA-based integration server solution that provides real-time connectivity between Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and plant floor condition monitoring systems. The company’s system agnostic flagship product, Mtelligence MIMOSA Integration Server(TM), supports a variety of protocols to connect to plant floor devices through OPC, plant historian and ODBC data connectors. Using the functional integration platform, manufacturers now have on-demand visibility into the true condition of manufacturing assets, enabling them to reduce unnecessary calendar-based maintenance, diminish unplanned downtime, and improve communication between maintenance and operations departments. This optimized O&M environment delivers reductions in maintenance and operational costs, increased uptime, increased output which leads to increased profits and more efficient allocation of financial and human resources.
“Traditionally, the financial risk of integration and multitude of system vendors have made CBM initiatives very challenging,” said Alex Bates, CTO for Mtelligence. “The emergence of MIMOSA open standard, as part of the OpenO&M(TM) Initiative eliminates the risk associated with proprietary point to point connections. The Mtelligence solution builds on MIMOSA and .Net to provide multi-site support for connecting all your plants to your EAM systems, and even accommodates hybrid environments where multiple EAM vendor systems are in place due to acquisitions or migrations.”
The Mtelligence MIMOSA Integration Server is the first truly MIMOSA-based solution to operate seamlessly across all system platforms. The solution provides an open standards bridge to all major EAM systems and shields manufacturers from the expense and risk associated with system upgrades and migrations.
“Before the MIMOSA Integration Server, there was a gap between asset health monitoring devices and EAM systems,” commented Paul Rahilly, CEO of Mtelligence. “Customers ended up with manual creation of work orders, or proprietary point to point connectors. By working with leading PdM vendors, Mtelligence provides customers with an open standards bridge that connects best-of-breed asset health monitoring systems into their maintenance systems, shielding end users from upgrade and migration risk that plagues proprietary connectivity solutions.”
Alan Johnston, President of the MIMOSA Foundation, commented: “I am genuinely excited about this offering from Mtelligence. MIMOSA, like other members of the OpenO&M(TM) Initiative, is committed to enabling more effective Operations and Maintenance (O&M) solutions via the use of the open information standards developed by participating organizations. Open standards-based interoperability is a critical enabler for achieving and sustaining operational excellence and this Mtelligence product should help both end-users and their key vendors to achieve the associated benefits.”
Additionally, Mtelligence announced the availability of Mtelligence CBM(TM), an application built on MIMOSA Integration Server that enables users to quickly and easily switch on Condition Based Maintenance. The intuitive application defines simple conditions for automatic work order generation, including runtime hours and alarm thresholds. It also allows advanced 3rd party predictive maintenance (PdM) systems to be connected to maintenance systems.
Mtelligence CBM helps small, mid-market and large manufacturers drive out unnecessary costs by shifting maintenance from calendar-based to real-time condition-based, dramatically reducing unnecessary maintenance efforts. Targeted maintenance provides rapid and significant cost benefits to manufacturers including immediate positive shifts in Return on Net Assets (RONA) and overall equipment effectiveness for critical assets. Mtelligence CBM helps manufacturers make better-informed decisions about their maintenance requirements and their business.
