Meridium Selected by Dakota Gasification Company as Asset Performance Management Solution
Roanoke, Virginia, USA - August 1, 2006 - Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software and consulting solutions, today announced plans for a Meridium implementation at Dakota Gasification Company (Dakota Gas), producer of more than 54 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas annually. Dakota Gas’ Great Plains Synfuels Plant supplies natural gas to thousands of homes and businesses in the eastern United States.
In the coming months, Meridium will provide software and services to implement its APM solution at Dakota Gas to maintain and improve the company’s equipment availability and overall reliability and reduce maintenance and operating costs.
Dakota Gas’s objectives in selecting Meridium included improvements and savings in maintenance and operations, energy savings from reduced start-ups, capital cost reductions from less frequent equipment replacements, and IT reductions due to managing fewer data systems as a result of integration provided by Meridium.
As part of the APM initiative at Dakota Gas, Meridium will centralize the Asset Reliability and event data to provide easy access for all departments to the same data set for reporting and decision making and provide tools and methodologies for data analysis and decision support. The Meridium solution will allow users at Dakota Gas to capture equipment history in a format that allows data to be easily analyzed to drive business decisions based on facts.
