Meridium Partners with Dexterra to Provide Mobile Solutions
Partnership enables plants to run Meridium’s Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions on any device and integrate with any enterprise system
June 15, 2006 - Roanoke, VA, USA - Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software and consulting solutions, announces today that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Dexterra, of Bothell, WA, USA. Under this partnership, Meridium and Dexterra will deliver complete mobile enterprise solutions to plants seeking to improve communication, reduce paperwork and increase efficiency and accuracy by automating field tasks and analysis.
With Dexterra Concert, Meridium users will be able to deploy applications that connect to multiple backend solutions, providing a single platform for mobilizing all their enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, EAM, CMMS and other solutions. According to Joe Nichols, Meridium Product Manager, “Many Meridium customers have indicated the desire to have an integrated mobile platform which will allow them to develop their own solutions based upon existing Meridium configurations.” To meet this need, Meridium has built an adaptor for Dexterra’s robust, highly scalable mobile platform. This provides full data management capabilities to and from Meridium via Dexterra Concert, which will provide customers with a complete solution to build and deploy mobile applications that support the assessment of asset condition from the field.
By leveraging Dexterra, Meridium customers choosing a mobile solution will no longer need to make their choice based on device preference or limitations caused by backend integration requirements. “Dexterra’s technology enables us to present our customers with the most options, allowing them to implement a mobile solution which fits their budget and existing enterprise environment,” said Nichols.
“We believe that mobile-centric companies need mobile-architected solutions” said Bob Apollo, VP Marketing for Dexterra “and that they can derive real competitive advantage by equipping their field workers with a timely, relevant and actionable view of the work in hand. Dexterra’s expertise in mobilizing business critical applications, combined with Meridium’s acknowledged expertise in asset performance management, promises to deliver exceptional value for our joint customers”.
Mike Raible, Reliability Department Group Leader responsible for Reliability Information Systems at Eastman Chemical Company, is currently leading a project using the Meridium/Dexterra solution for Eastman’s handheld data collection efforts, focusing specifically on Eastman’s lubrication management system (LMS), which ensures that its rotating equipment receives the right quality lubricant in the right amount in the right place and at the right time. Meridium worked closely the company to develop a solution to meet the LMS’s needs at Eastman’s Tennessee facility, which encompasses 7,000 employees, 500 separate buildings, 12,000 pressure vessels, 25,000 rotating equipment trains and miles of piping and electrical conduit.
“Eastman is excited about this new functionality for our lubrication management system solution, powered by Meridium and Dexterra. Among our many requirements for this initiative was finding a system that worked the way our people in the field work and changes easily as our people’s needs change. The Meridium solution suits our needs perfectly,” said Raible.
