Make Data Collection Easy For Initial Inventory Setups
Chicago, Illinois, March 6, 2007 – CMMS data group announces its latest inventory software tool, Inventory Walk Down Sheet (IWDS). IWDS helps during the initial stages of inventory setup by facilitating data collection and ensuring that data collection is correct the first time, saving you and your plant time and money.
IWDS:
• Eliminates data collection sheets.
• Gives you the choice to manually enter or auto-generate new item numbers.
• Provides user-defined drop-down menus (inventory types, units of measure, etc.).
• Auto-completes drop-down entries.
• Allows unneeded fields to be disabled (sample list follows):
- Inventory Type
- Unit of Measure
- Model
- Account Code
- Specifications
- Vendor Item No.
- Manufacturer Part No.
- Cost
- Old Part No.
- Quantity on Hand
- Equipment (where used)
Use the following steps to complete the data collection process:
1. Customize IWDS to fit your plant’s inventory data collection needs.
2. Collect data using IWDS*.
3. Verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
4. Import data to your CMMS/EAM/Inventory Management software‡.
If you use MP2 6.0/6.1, the database will automatically update upon selecting “Upload”.
*If you lack data collection resources, CMMS data group can help you perform the data collection process or, we can complete the entire process for you.
‡ If your software lacks an import tool, CMMS data group will connect to your ODBC compatible database and import the data for you.
