Go Paperless with MPulse Mobile Works

Eugene, OR – May 15, 2006 – MPulse Maintenance Software announces the release of MPulse Mobile Works vSix. This new version fully supports bar code reading, wireless networking, and the ability to “hot link” inventory to work orders. MPulse Mobile Works is available for all handheld units that utilize the Pocket PC operating system (see data sheet for technical specs).

MPulse Mobile Works supports bar code reading as a means for data input for entering inventory and asset data. By using bar code scanning users of MPulse Mobile Works will reduce their data entry time and improve the accuracy of their data. MPulse Mobile Works updates the inventory records on the handheld every time the user “syncs” with MPulse database. This allows the maintenance engineer to link up parts to their work orders as they use them and not
have to remember them later. It just doesn’t get any easier than this!

MPulse Mobile Works has four management modules.

• The Maintenance Request Module gives employees and managers the ability to enter maintenance problems as they see them.
• The Work Order Module enables maintenance staff to download and manage work orders to completion, enter relevant data and upload it to the MPulse database.
• The Work Performed Module allows maintenance staff to accurately capture the “oh by the way” maintenance that gets done without an issued work order.
Work orders can be created on the fly.
• The Time Tracking module is a mobile time clock. Mobile users can log into a job, a report or a pre-approved non work order activity. MobileWorks keeps track of the time. Time card reports can be printed out from the desktop unit.

“Implementing hand held devices such as the Pocket PC allows engineers to work paperless. MobileWorks is a real productivity tool” states Randy Brous, Technical Product Manager at Maintenance Software. “These new features are user driven. Our users are our best product design engineers. They know best what a product needs,” Brous continued.
