Reported by H. AMIR KHALID Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd
CWORKS Systems Bhd, creator of the CWorks Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software suite, has signed a memorandum of understanding with OMCS Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd to jointly market their products and services.
OMCS Pty Ltd director Stephen Turner said his company would provide the strategic planning for corporations and agencies implementing CWorks software packages.
OMCS provides reliability assurance processes, systems and services, including training for professional certification around the world.
The CWorks CMMS software packages are available in free versions and commercial ones.
The commercial software versions are used by about 800 companies in 66 countries.
These included Swedish carmaker Volvo; Australian national airline Qantas; British energy company BP; and in Malaysia such corporate names as national carmaker Proton and national oil company Petronas.
CWorks Systems chief executive Abdul Rani Achmed Abdullah also said CWorks is conducting a pilot project to computerise the Ministry of Finance’s asset-management system, which tracks all assets worth RM500 or more.
CWorks Systems also launched a new product in the suite, CWorks NETmain, which provides CMMS users access to maintenance information via their web browser.
This allows organisations to keep maintenance data from many sites in one centralised database, enabling corporate-wide maintenance planning and management, he said. –
