AGY Modernizes Enterprise Asset Management and Procurement

Efficient Transition to Oracle eAM and iProcurement Expedites Return on Investment

ATLANTA, Aug. 30 Signum Group today announced that AGY has gone live with Oracle eAM and iProcurement at their production facilities in Aiken, SC, and Huntingdon, PA. AGY manufactures glass yarns used in electronic products, telecommunications gear, automotive equipment, and other industrial applications. Signum Group, an Oracle Certified Partner (CP), was chosen to assist AGY with the product implementation at the two sites.

Signum Group’s professional and technical services included system configuration, data gathering guidance, data migration, report writing, training, and documentation. Signum Group also created a model in Oracle for AGY to use for consignment inventory, and facilitated the use of additional advanced features. Following are some specific project accomplishments:

* Asset Migration
* PM Text and PM Schedule Migration
* Breakdown Work Order Form for Production Employees
* Alerts and Notifications
* Purchase Requisition Approval Hierarchy
* PES to Oracle Interface
* Work Order Reports
* Inventory Consignment

“Signum has a well-rehearsed implementation methodology that brought us live on the new system very fast. We were live in Aiken within four months, and in Huntingdon in just over two months,” said Bob Mohler, reliability engineer for AGY. AGY currently has roughly 200 total eAM and iProcurement users responsible for managing approximately 2,900 assets in Aiken and 2,200 assets in Huntingdon. The Oracle solutions replaced a legacy system that was soon to be unsupported. The Oracle products were chosen because they integrate well with AGY’s existing Oracle E-Business Suite.

“We are pleased to have been a part of AGY’s successful transition to Oracle’s Enterprise Asset Management and Internet procurement solutions. The company is now fully equipped to conduct best practice work scheduling, maintenance, and spare parts purchasing. We look forward to helping AGY leverage additional advanced maintenance practices enabled within the Oracle solutions,” said Susan Hrib, president and CEO of Signum Group.
